The Future Pro Academy this week has seen a record breaking number of trialists attend the The Showcase Open trials for the scholarship programme commencing September 2021.
Octobers Trial seen high number of players attend the day, seeing a high level of ability showcased to the Future Pro coaching team and special guest Tom Bates.
Director of the Future Pro Academy Demir was delighted with the trials turnout: “Every year we have pushed the boundaries with our trial showcase assessments. The response we have received this year has been excellent and the players on show from Monday can only see the academy progressing in a good direction. We are now looking forward to the future trial dates and open evenings”.
The next steps for the trialists will be to attend an open evening at Racing Club Warwick if permitted or through a online video call on Wednesday 9th December to discuss the education and further opportunities with the football.
Wednesday was another step in the right direction for the academy with a good performance against strong football league opposition Forest Green Rovers.
Heading into the game we had limited time to work with the players with it being half term, players attending the ECFA England trials and players featuring in the youth team Monday evening.
It was important to start on the front foot, which seen us take the lead inside the first ten minutes. Throughout the game we threatened and created plenty of chances. The feedback from the Forest Green Rovers staff was very positive with two to three players impressing.
We look forward to welcoming Forest Green to us in the New Year and use this last test to give us confidence heading into next weeks season ECFA campaign.
