St George’s Park with the PFA – Weekly Roundup

It was another busy week at the academy for the scholars, playing back-to-back games at RCW and visiting St George’s Park on Wednesday.

We started Wednesday with an early morning drive up to Burton Upon Trent.

The scholars had the opportunity to be coached by coaches from the PFA – the union for all current and former footballers and scholars in the Premier League, and the English Football Leagues at St. George’s Park.

Coaches included former Stoke City Forward, Ricardo Fuller, whose goals helped the “Potters” gain promotion to the Premier League in 2008 and Lee Holmes, former Derby County player, who became their youngest ever player and goalscorer during his time at Derby.

The scholars will have more opportunities to visit St George’s Park throughout the season.

Wednesday also saw the scholars play back-to-back matches at Racing Club Warwick against Fox Soccer Academy & Kidderminster Harriers Academy.

We came away from the games with a draw and a win, both teams displaying fantastic performances.

We now look ahead to next week, where we begin our ECFA campaigns.
