Future Pro Academy & Managing Director – Demir Vavan

“As a UEFA Licensed Academy, the focus has always been to provide the best pathways for our full-time scholars aged 16 – 19 when leaving school. We are now at the centre of Warwick and offering a performance hub for all players to access from all over the midlands / Warwickshire who wish to take their game to the next level whilst looking to pursue a career in sport”.

“So far we have achieved scholars going in on trial at professional clubs and former Academy scholar Dan Purvin signing a YTS professional contract for Mansfield Town in only our first season. The new move for us will allow scholars increased opportunities working with non-league clubs in the area and access to improved facilities at our new base. This will ultimately provide scholars all the tools they need to progress forward and be successful during their 2-year football & education scholarship.”

The Academy BTEC education programme will still be delivered by our partners SCL Education & Training.

We would like to wish Stratford Town FC all the best for the future and are now looking forward to our exciting new chapter as we begin preseason on 23rd July.

We are delighted to announce we will be holding MJPL open trials for the 2018 – 2019 season on Thursday 18th April, 6 – 8pm  at our kilsby Lane base. This is for any current U9 – U14’s who are looking to take their game to the next level to join a UEFA licensed training academy with up to 2 hours training per week and a competitive games schedule on Saturday mornings across the midlands. So far in our programme players have been signed by a number of academies including Coventry City FC and many more have received trials at professional clubs in the midlands.

The training programme already has 4 teams in place who compete weekly in the MJPL and we will be expanding next season therefore we are looking for new players who think they have what it takes to step up to the challenge. The trials will take place on our state of the art 3G FIFA approved astro at Rugby Town JFC. The team’s compete as Rugby Town JFC in the league as part of our association with the club.

On Tuesday 27th February, Scott Wells Assistant Manager & Head of recruitment of National Champions University of Charleston attended the FuturePro Stratford Town Elite Academy. The Golden Eagles secured their first ever National DII championship in December 2017 making history.

The purpose of Scott’s visit to the academy was to discuss the opportunities available for scholars at the academy for when they leave the BTEC Extended level 3 diploma in sport programme.

All players received the opportunity to compete in a showcase trial game at the mood chimp stadium, Stratford Town FC. With many of the players being still only first years 16 – 17 years of age Scott was particularly impressed with the quality and standard of players during the showcase game and will be back next year with a view of offering scholarships.

Scott Wells –  Assistant Manager & Head of Recruitment Charleston University

“Coming from the English system myself it is important to establish a good line of communication with as many aspiring athletes as possible. The PFA have done a great job of making a Plan B available for the young players not receiving contracts at 18-24. Future Pro have some amazing talent on their books with time on their hands being a majority all 1st year program. I look forward to the relationship myself and Director Demir Vavan can generate from this to give these lads the best opportunity for success”.

Demir Vavan – Academy & Managing Director FuturePro

“Our pathway has always been to progress players back into the professional game in England as quickly as possible and we have achieved this already inside 4 months with former Academy scholar Dan Purvin signing for Mansfield Town FC. Our link now means we can offer a great pathway abroad in the US, in particular with the current National champions who have players progressing into the MLS and top European leagues around the world. This is a great opportunity for our players to receive scholarships when they leave the programme at the end of the 2 years with us. The whole student – athlete approach they adopt in the states is a good concept as it means players can achieve a degree and have a plan B whilst playing competitive football having the chance of still becoming professional at the end of it.

Scott’s visit last week also included visiting U18 scholars at Blackburn Rovers FC, Sunderland FC & Premier league giants Tottenham Hotspur FC. We are delighted to be the only independent academy in the UK linked to the all-America National champions and look forward to providing an exciting opportunity for scholars who wish to pursue this career route.
